With spring just around the corner, it’s time to start prepping for a wardrobe transition

Spring is one season where you can use layering to your advantage. Depending on where you live, you may or may not have cool spring weather. But if you’re going to be indoors, there’s a chance you’ll want a little something to cover you with. This is where a spring staple like a cardigan comes in handy. You can easily tie a cardigan around your waist when you don’t need it, and throw it right back on when the chill sets in. If you work in an office, it’s also nice to have a corporate-style blazer that you can wear over a business casual sleeveless top. Spring is all about mixing & matching, and layering pieces help you do just that.

Here are some more spring styling ideas:

  • Mix up the floral dress

When everything seems to be in bloom, it's natural to choose floral prints. Instead of the standard spring dress, switch things up by choosing a matching floral crop top and skirt, or mix two different floral prints.

  • Keep It Light

Spring isn’t the time for dark colors and thick fabrics. It’s a season of “growth,” which means vibrant colors and breathable fabrics. Quintessential spring style calls for keeping your outfits light.

  • Choose an oversize shirt for outerwear

If you haven't found a great lightweight jacket, consider instead an oversize or men's button-up shirt in light wash denim. It looks equally great thrown over a tight T-shirt and mom jeans as it does with a silk cami.

  • Add Accessories

On those spring days when you’re doing a very basic look, you can easily add charm to your outfit with accessories. Try a scarf in a fun spring print, or jewelry in bright spring colors. Add a pop of color with your shoes, or go with a handbag that takes your look up a notch. If your style is all about comfort, you can stay true to that while adding a bit of seasonal chic with accessories.
